World Music.

on Tue Mar 20, 2018 11:02 pm
Thought it would be cool to have a place to share some of the more exotic music.

I found this one on a CD called “Psychedelic Bollywood” and it certainly fits the bill; synths, guitars, brass and sitars.. very much a “kitchen sink” kind of song, but damn does it sound incredible!

Great idea for a topic, Bob. Brilliant track-----it reminded me immediately of this fabulous dance
scene from Moulin Rouge. Try sitting still to what one YouTube commenter calls an "insane" beat!

I love the sound of Tuvan throat singing. This is an all-female folk ensemble that specializes in
this technique. The original title of the piece is [removes dentures] "Symyrazhyp orgai-la siler":

This is one whose title and artist's name eluded me for years. The artist is Wes and the song is "Alane". Joyous stuff. The uncredited female voice is simply gorgeous.
