Modern Pop; It's Not All Bad!

A while ago I had a similar thread in the old board, thought I'd try and do the same here (although, pop been to some very dark places since that original thread..)
A current band I'm paying attention to are AJR. While a fair few of their songs aren't really for me, they have a couple which really stand out!
This is one of my favourites, I think the sample of the Air on the G String sample is used to really good effect.

This one comes from a very different source..
At work we now have music from unsigned artists as a byproduct of a messaging service the company have signed up to it, I'll be honest, some of these artists are unsigned for a good reason, but now and then you'll come across a real gem such as this.. This deserves to be huge.

I was introduced to this gorgeous track a couple of years ago.
It's pretty stunning.

Bob, all three of your choices are excellent!
I visited the the AJR album some time last year on several recommendations at Smiley. I shall pass on the
Pale Rivers song at PSF, where they're listening to a lot of new music, which is most encouraging. As for
M83, I've since moved on to their (or rather Anthony Gonzales') double album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming...
I heard this next track on BBC Radio 3, during their Sunday morning "nature sounds" feature. It's from
Björk's most recent album Utopia:

I like that! It sounds like Mike Oldfield played backwards. Really cool.

Another of my favourite modern pop bands are Bastille. Good melodies these guys. The chorus for this track is killer.
