I'd bought Sade's gorgeous debut Diamond Life in late 1984 so when I heard this playing on my son's Spotify playlist Sade Adu's voice was a dead giveaway. A track to drift away on...

I do believe I've just been turned on to Weezer! This is the gorgeous "Holiday" from their 1994 eponymous debut (aka the Blue Album) produced by Ric Ocacek of The Cars. It's stupendous from start to finish but the bit that makes me flip starts at 2:09:

Weezer are a great band. I saw them live in 2005. Been a fan for many years, however, some of their stuff can be not so good. I like this one;
