Absolute Beginners: The David Bowie Thread

Let's see how far we get with this one. At least David has a vast repertoire to choose from--something for everyone, you might say. The topic title is of course the name of his 1986 single, which reached #2 in the UK.

One of my all time favourite Bowie songs. This live performance of "Starman" is the best (imo). His band at that time were brilliant, especially the bassist to point out.

Was that Gail Ann Dorsey? Was this from the Heathen Tour? I lost touch with David around the time of Tin Machine.
This is the first I heard of him, in 1966. I'd swear he was still announced as Davy Jones & The Lower Third when I first heard "Can't Help Thinking About Me", a gorgeous song that stood out from everything else at the time:

It was indeed. She is an excellent musician, with a top voice as well. Shown in more depth from this;
