"You guys are gonna love this"----a Capitol Board topic that survived

This is the one and only Capitol Board topic I managed to retrieve in its entirety, mainly because it's brief and, um, basic. Seems a spammer calling himself TheBalboa posted a link to some gunk under the above-named topic title. Viper the mod removed the link and for reasons best known to himself replaced it with a row of ten a's. With the following results:

I broke out my acoustic guitar and played these chords, expecting something special. What's wrong with me? I'm not loving this.

A new game hey...

CCW, may I draw your attention to the rules of "You guys are gonna love this." (Copyright:TheBalboa)

1) The number of letters each player adds is limited to ten.

2) There are stiff penalties for being drunk and disorderly in charge of an alphabet. H after f indeed!

3) The player who reaches z first is the winner. TheBalboa has graciously consented to present the prize (whatever it may be, hopefully something nice). In the unlikely event of a tie (two or more players posting z within the same minute), the players in question will be issued with broken bottles and dustbin lids and left to fight it out.

The Balboa, being Italian, does not recognize 'k' as a legitimate letter. You blew it again, CCW.

Posted 28 February 2009 - 11:31 PM
More to the point perhaps, you've miscounted!!! There are only seven k's when there should be ten.

It's the first rule of YGAGLT. TheBalboa, whatever his nationality, will subtract valuable points for this, make no mistake...

Now, where were we?

llllllllll

mmmmmmmmmm

TheBalboa sends his regards (from Milan) and would like to add a new rule. The winner (the guy who posts zzzzzzzzz) has to have had at least 5 go's before then to qualify. In other words, you can't just hang around for that sucker john k to plod on through the alphabet and then simply swoop in with your winning z's.

Er, Viper, what's this rather odd topic doing in the "Music" section?

Yeah i think i'm ganna give this game a miss.

Yeah, CCW, it's not for everybody. My turn:

nnnnnnnnrnn

darn it.

nnnnn#nnnn

dang!

nnnn^nnnnnn

S**T. Move over, CCW, I'm sitting on the bench with you.

Well, you just made it part of the music section.

The next one's musical too, although probably inaudible (except perhaps to the ears of a dog ):

rrrrrrrrrr

[as in "Mean Woman Blues". I hate to concede it but Viper's right. This belongs in the "Music" section... ]

Uh-oh, by rights the Big V should do the next one.

Tsk, tsk, V. Let's not keep TheBalboa waiting...

This thread has become too exciting for words. I shall now continue the merriment.

well, i am glad that i dropped by when i did. i would not want to miss the YGAGLT...again. as my old mate Little Richard used to say...

uuuuuuuuuu

#27  john k

Let's look at the scores so far, shall we?

JK: 10, EA: 5, CCW: 2 (both highly suspect), BN, Landy, TheBalboa: 1. So far only Roger and my good self are eligible for a prize (5 or more goes). And there is a chance (admittedly very slender) that we'll post the winning zzzzzzzzzz simultaneously...

I see TheBalboa, after kicking off the proceedings, has graciously stood back to give us lesser mortals our moment in the sun.

vvvvvvvvvv

BN  is that me? John, what do you call me when my back is turned??

I've been practicing: wwwwwwwwww

[which suggests the 1970's blockbusters "Feelings" (Morris Albert) and "My Love" (Wings) ]

#29 john k

Yes it is you, oddly enough. Some wires seem to have got crossed somewhere.
But I digress:

In all fairness, I offer the second to last entry with the hope that John K shows up to claim the coveted zzzzzzzzzz spot.

That being said...

yyyyyyyyyy

#31  john k
Posted 10 March 2009 - 07:41 AM
You're a very decent chap, Roger.

zzzzzzzzzz
[The sound of me, last night. I suppose if I must talk in my sleep it might as well be about this thread ]

I've offered the last entry in the hope that TheBalboa shows up to present the prize. Assuming he can tear himself away from his cauldron of soggy spaghetti, the only source of heat in his seedy basement flat deep in the crime-ridden slums of Milan...

Well, we might as well take a look at The Balboa's only other post on this board at this point. Anyone notice a common theme?

#33 Ruint Domino
Posted 11 March 2009 - 09:36 PM
Now THAT is interesting indeed!! Apparently back in 2006 Balboa found a higher window to leap out of.

#34 john k
Posted 11 March 2009 - 11:04 PM
If you read Millerkale's post on that thread (or rather the quote in his post) you'll have to agree that the plot thickens considerably.

#35 Margo P
Posted 15 March 2009 - 11:40 AM
So now what? Do we start the alphabet over again?

This is worse then the addition thread.

#36 john k
Posted 15 March 2009 - 07:30 PM
No, MP, we don't do anything. This thread stops here.

Though it's most amusing to see four guests reading it.

Brilliant! It was a great topic to tell the truth, forgetting how brief it was--less is more! lol!

"You expect me to talk?"

The Bhagavad Gita says, "There has never been a time when you and I have not
existed, nor will there be a time when we will cease to exist."

To introduce a favourite of Brian's at
the time of composing Pet Sounds:
