A nice and hot sunny day here in the UK, with a great bike ride this morning to add. This piece is a perfect fit for today. More Butterworth brilliance.

Lovely stuff. It's supremely frustrating to consider what other great things he might have achieved if he'd survived the hell of WWI...
Yes, the weather is excellent here too. We just took a cycle ride to our allotment.

Hitting hard on my classical listening lately. I am really enjoying them as well.

Yes, Delius is special. Actually, I dropped in to post this late-ish Easter offering:

He always fails to disappoint, LOL! But that's probably what you mean.
This morning I heard this unusual work by Dvořák for 2 violins, cello and harmonium, an instrument I love:

Brilliant, aha! At first I didn't get the quote. After a quick search, and watch, I found it funny. I then thought "oh that's what DJ was on about".

It seems that in reality Mozart and Salieri's relationship was competitive but not acrimonious. Indeed, beyond the coverting of court positions and the like, they were in fact respectful colleagues at worst and friends at best. Ironically, it was Amadeus that rekindled interest in Salieri's music after more than a century of neglect! I once accompanied a very amateur choir in his splendid Requiem in C Minor back in the 1990s. No classical pianist myself, I somehow managed to get through it fairly unscathed.
