Bull wrote mainly keyboard stuff but luckily also some vocal things including this anthem, Almighty God, Which by the Leading of a Star (date unknown, to me anyway):

Bookmarked.

Splendid stuff! John Bull was one of the best you know (he was also an organ builder). Smile

I first thought the dances I heard this morning on the radio were by Michael Praetorius, he of the farting crumhorns, but they came from the pen of Anthony Holborne, a 16th century English composer by all accounts. "Galliard" was followed by "The Choise", "As it Fell on Holy Eve", "The Fruit of Love" and "The Faery Rounde". There's a rising sequence in "Galliard" (here at 0:40) that sounds exactly like a passage in Praetorius's Terpsichore, although it probably predates it and may have been used by any number of composers at that time.

Well, Tintoretto took the trouble to paint this fine portrait of a lady so I think it's only fair to spend at least a few minutes gawping looking at them it. Some lovely harmonies, with a few choice dissonances thrown in. Wink
